The Cart Shed
The Cart Shed Charity transforms lives. We work with adults and young people experiencing mental health difficulties or with those of us who have emotional imbalances in our lives.
Based in north Herefordshire, we use enriching and engaging woodland activities such as woodcraft and coppice craft as well as horticulture to empower people to self-manage their mental and physical health in a sustainable way. Sessions are run by tutors, occupational therapists and mental health practitioners to help build confidence, identify barriers to skills development and explore other issues that might be making life challenging.
In 2017 the Charity was awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. We have also been signatories to the Armed Forces Covenant since 2014 and were awarded the ERS Silver Award in 2021.
Are you feeling low, unmotivated, or tired? Stressed, anxious or sad? Is your health getting you down? Are you feeling lonely or alone? Maybe you are out of work and feel you are losing your confidence? Or perhaps you're worrying about everything getting on top of you and not knowing how to find a way out? Or do you need someone who will just sit and listen?
Come to The Cart Shed and we’ll arrange for you to have time with us on a weekly basis. You’ll be helped by our professional team of occupational therapists, mental health practitioners and tutors to address and overcome problems and concerns that may be making life difficult.
To join one of our courses you can either apply directly to us by filling in a self-referral form or you can be referred by your GP or support worker. Many courses are fully funded or you can opt to pay what you can.
If you would like to join a course, or if you are a family member or friend of someone who would like to join a course, please contact us.
