    Stefan Thomas - Author - Business Networking for Dummies

    HEADLINE SPEAKER

    Stefan is the author of Business Networking for Dummies and other books on networking. He speaks across Europe for organisations such as BT, Lloyds Bank, The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, and HMBiz!

    In 1983, Stefan had his first job as a salesman in a shoe shop in Oxford. Almost forty years later he is still selling and is the author of Amazon bestseller 'Business Networking for Dummies', as well as 'Instant Networking' and 'Win the Room'.

    Stefan speaks at conferences across Europe for companies including BT, Lloyds Bank, The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, The Loo of the Year Awards and many others.

    A middle aged punk, with a mohawk and ulcerative colitis, Stefan is married to Sharon, they have five children between them and live in Oxfordshire from where Stefan still goes to too many punk gigs for a man his age!     Alex Knowles - Relentless advocate for men’s mental health, ultrarunner, speaker, and leader. Backing belief with action to prove anything’s possible.

    Alex is a purpose-driven leader, ultramarathon runner, and passionate advocate for men’s mental health. Through Andy’s Man Club and his personal mission, Project Possible, he’s combined grit, storytelling, and self-belief to raise awareness, open a new club in Hereford, and run three ultramarathons in three months raising nearly £7,000 in the process. From spreading awareness to 12-hour spinathons, Alex has put everything on the line, showing up when no one was watching. His mantra? “If you don’t back yourself, why should anyone else?” He’s proof that relentless belief, hard work, and heart can move mountains and minds.

    Michelle is a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney with over 30 years experience in the IP industry.

    Michelle's talk will not just another talk about how to protect your business brand, but instead a light hearted story of how beer played an important part in modern brand protection, highlighting why this is important for your business. Plus a look at some examples of marketing and language departments not communicating and the resulting unintentional brand messaging.

     

     

    Meet The Host

    Ollie Beale hosts and organises the HMBiz Conference, whilst studying a Business degree at the University of Worcester. Since it's debut in 2023, he has learnt and developed his skills on stage, including his emotional presentation highlighting his journey with mental health, and the importance of the message "It's okay not to be okay".

    Ollie has also spoken on the Main Stage at two Xerocon events, in 2019 at the ExCel London and in 2022 at Tobacco Dock. His consistent striving for more led him to the title of 'Xero Ambassador', and he was rewarded by Xero paying his full university tuition. Xero continue to support Ollie's journey by supporting the Conference.
