OUR CHOSEN CHARITY FOR 2026
ELY MEMORIAL FUND

About ELY
The ELY Memorial Fund was established in loving memory of Emma Louise Young (E.L.Y.). Emma tragically lost her life in a road traffic collision at just 23 years old. She was our only daughter.
Our Mission
To financially support families and create safer roads through our two key initiatives - the Hugs Pack and Young Driver Education programmes.
Hugs Pack
The ELY Memorial Fund is dedicated to supporting families in Herefordshire who have lost a young loved one, aged between 17 and 25, as a result of a road traffic collision.
We provide immediate help through our Hugs Pack, offering up to £4,000 towards funeral costs, along with practical guidance and trusted resources to help families navigate an incredibly difficult time.
Young Driver Education programmes
We are committed to preventing future tragedies by educating young drivers through two tailored programmes:
• Young Driver Experience aimed at young people aged 14-17, this programme equips participants with vital road safety skills and awareness, helping to reduce collisions and encourage safer driving behaviours from an early age.
• Driving for Change tailored for drivers aged 18-25 – the age group most at risk on our roads – where they can build practical skills with a deeper understanding of responsibility, risk and the impact of their actions on themselves and others.
Your support
Whether you’re organising a fundraiser, giving a donation, or simply helping to spread awareness, your support enables us to extend a lifeline to families in need and continue our work in making roads safer.
Together we can make a meaningful difference in our community.
